Fitzroy is a small settlement about 40 minutes drive from Stanley. A stone road connects the settlement to the main MPA road and access to the settlement is easy. It is situated about half way from Stanley to Goose Green, close to the airport at Mount Pleasant.
The area within the Fitzroy Farm boundary is a natural haven with a number of tracks, many of which can be treacherous if the ground is wet. Luckily, we had an easy (if somewhat bouncy!) ride as our trip was in the middle of summer. Despite a number of recent downpours the ground was relatively dry.
I would like to thank Alan Eagle (the manager of Fitzroy Farm) for an excellent day. He led our small convoy and showed us the sights, some of which are shown below.
