Keith and Val's Falkland Islands

Port Harriet

Port Harriet is situated on the south east coast of East Falkland. It is less than an hour's drive from Stanley but (as usual!) involves crossing some areas of 'camp' that can be very wet and boggy. Like most places in the Falklands, it is easy for the unwary or inexperienced to drive into a hidden wet hole.

The photos below were taken on the south coast. The coastline is rugged and there are several colonies of Rock Cormorants hidden among the numerous coves and craggy outcrops. High in the cliffs and surrounded by the sea, they are safe from most potential predators.
