Official Falkland Islands Portal

(Includes Interactive Maps of the Islands & Stanley)

Visitors since 1 July 2003

The Falkland Islands are situated in the South Atlantic, about 280 miles north-east of Tierra del Fuego at the tip of South America. They are an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom, independently governed but fiercely british. Most people think immediately of the conflict in 1982 when the Falkland Islands are mentioned. One of the aims of this site is to show that the Islands are worth far more than that!

The site was originally setup to show friends and family the variety and beauty of the landscape and wildlife. It has grown to become a picture gallery of a small part of what the Islands have to offer. We had enormous difficulty finding information about the Islands before we came to live here. Hopefully, for anyone thinking of travelling (or moving) here, the site will be a useful means of familiarisation. On the other hand, if you are casually browsing, the site will give you a glimpse of the amazing diversity and unspoilt wilderness which characterises our adopted home.
